Greetings, everyone!
The 2010 construction season is now upon us. A reminder to all that Stage 2 (2010) construction has been broken into two phases: Phase 1, Norton Street through the St. Marie Street intersection, and Phase 2, St. Marie Street to Arrowhead Road. We have planned a detour route for each of these phases. A map of the detour routes can be seen by clicking the “Detour Routes” link to the right.
Ulland Brothers resumed construction the week of May 3rd this year. Shortly after getting started, we encountered some contaminated soil in the intersection of St. Marie Street and Woodland Avenue. In an effort to keep construction activities moving along, we decided to move into Phase 2 of the construction. Ulland has started with the new sanitary sewer at the intersection of Bruce Street and Woodland Avenue. Ulland plans to continue with the sanitary sewer on Phase 2 until it is complete. A second crew will be starting this week at the location of the contaminated soil.
Originally, we had an intermediate completion date of July 17, 2010 for Phase 1. This may be pushed out a week. The final completion date remains the same, September 25, 2010. We will be holding our weekly construction meetings at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesdays near the St. Marie Street intersection. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to attend.
